XTP is the largest wakeboard tower manufacturer in the country
making towers directly for the boat manufacturers (Original
Equipment Manufactures or OEMs) to offer on new boats sold and
for boaters and boarders wanting to update their boat.
Regardless of who receives the tower shipped from our Tennessee
facility, the thought and care that goes into the design,
construction and testing of each tower is unmatched in the
industry. We now use the same manufacturing process to build OEM
grade aftermarket towers and accessories as well.

 WAKEBOARD TOWER DESIGN
All XTP wakeboard towers begin life on a computer with our engineers, who are also wakeboarders, either creating a design based on discussions with an OEM or from their vast knowledge of what works from a design and safety standpoint. Using boat hull measurements and design objectives, the towers take shape and go through initial simulated testing.

 WAKEBOARD TOWER TESTING
After the final touches through software, an actual tower is built and tested for fit, design and performance. A Pull Test involves pulling the tower from the ski tow up to 2400 lbs (way more than you and your friends will ever have on the tower wakeboarding). New tower prototypes are also tested on the water pulling wakeboarders. We don’t have to look far to find volunteers to “work” weekends at this task.

 WAKEBOARD TOWER PRODUCTION
All parts for the wakeboard towers are precision machined to exact specifications and the 6463 or 6063 aluminum pipe cut to the necessary angles. It takes about 5 hours to make a complete wakeboard tower from the starting the cut of the first pipe to the final polish, inspection for packaging. |
WELDING
Towers are assembled and TIG welded and then the welds are airbrushed for visual appeal and protection. TIG welding is our choice for all wakeboard towers because it creates a strong, clean weld. |
 QUALITY INSPECTION AND SHIPPING
Finally, the towers are quality inspected to be free of scratches and dents while they are cleaned and polished. All parts are then wrapped for protection and shipped to the boat manufacturer for installation on brand new boats waiting to be sold, or sent straight to a good home like yours immediately.
